Kintsugi

An accidental sweep of the arm

The knocked bowl slides

From the table

Parabolas down

Snaps like a seashell against the slate

Gather the fragments

Affix them in veins of gold

The porcelain reassembled

Taking its place with the other cobbled crockery

Gathering rainwater on the edge of the garden

Venerable kintsugi

I too snapped

My calcium chassis fused

With titanium and spun wire

Yet I— I don’t wish to be fixed

I wish to remain unmended

Irreparable

Leave the lodes alone

I’ll stay splayed across the ground

My shards prone on the earth

As it wheels around the sun

Glinting in blue and

Veins of gold
